Many-Spotted Tiger Moth

The subject is an adult moth identified by its distinctive wing pattern and coloration. The cream-colored forewings are covered in a network of large, irregular, solid black blotches, and the thorax is visibly fuzzy and orange. This combination of features is characteristic of the Many-spotted Tiger Moth, *Hypercompe permaculata*, a species known to occur in Texas.
